Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that helps to add volume and hydrate the skin. The gel-like substance is injected into the areas of volume loss, resulting in an immediate improvement in the appearance of deep wrinkles and facial folds, and so a more youthful and radiant appearance. The result of a single treatment is immediately noticeable and can last up to a year.

Dermal fillers are typically applied to replace lost volume in non-dynamic areas of the face, e.g. the naso-labial lines (the deep lines that form around the mouth with age), marionette lines (droopy mouth corners) and in facial sculpting procedures such as non-surgical cheek, chin, nose and lip augmentation.

Fillers are either injected using fine needles or cannulas depending on the area to be treated. Results are immediately visible and last up to a year.

Dermal fillers should be used with great caution in patients prone to hypertrophic scarring. Patients who are sensitive to Lidocaine or hyaluronic acid should inform their practitioner, as alternative products are available. Hyaluronic acid fillers aren’t recommended for patients with Porphyria, untreated epilepsy, children under the age of 16 and pregnant or lactating women.

Slight redness and swelling may occur at the injection site, but most people can go right back to their normal routine. You can reapply your make-up immediately, so no one ever needs know. The longevity of the results is dependent on many factors, including your age, the area injected, the quantity of product used as well as your overall health and lifestyle.

WE use Juvederm and Filorga fillers.
