Microneedling

Microneedling significantly increases the transdermal penetration of drug substances. Can be combined with other medical-cosmetic techniques to deliver better results.

A very safe technique for all types of skin.

Microneedling: What is it?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique that creates thousands of epidermal microcanals that allow substances to pass through the horny layer of the skin, while simultaneously producing dermoepidermal biostimulation, incrementing the activity of the drug substances.

Effects

  • Stimulates fibroblasts and the production of elastin and collagen I and III
  • Activates the skin repair mechanisms
  • Reduces expression lines and pore size
  • Reduces the appearance of hypertrophic scars and stretch marks
  • Improves skin firmness
  • Stimulates the hair follicles
  • Improves dark spots or patches on your skin (hyperpigmentation)
  • Improves sun damaged skin

How the microneedling device works on the skin

Many micropunctures are made, which in turn generate thousands of microcanals.

This facilitates the penetration of drug substances that are applied topically at the same time as microcanal creation.

The drug substances reach the deepest skin layers, incrementing their effect.

Microneedling can be done on the face, neck, décolleté, back, legs or other areas of the body where you notice damaged or aging skin. You’ll probably need multiple treatments to achieve your desired results, usually about every 6 weeks for 4 or 6sessions depending on skin concern. It can take 3 to 6 months to see results. Afterward, you might need the procedure once a year for maintenance. This procedure is also known as collagen induction therapy.

What happens after microneedling?

Microneedling is an outpatient procedure, so you can go home once it’s done. Your skin might be red, swollen and even tight or flake 3days later after procedure for up to five days but this depends on individual response and depth of needling done during treatment and for which skin concern. An ice pack can help reduce irritation and discomfort. Most people can wear makeup the day after the procedure, but you should stay out of the sun until your skin heals.Sun protection cream of no less than a spf 30 should be used on a daily basis.
